Bill Fisher, born in Buffalo, NY, received his M.F.A. from Radford University, Radford, Virginia in 1990. Bill Fisher has exhibited throughout North America. His most recent paintings utilize oil and wax media on board and also incorporate stenciling where circles, arrows and text predominate his abstract work.
Of his practise Fisher states:
“I paint in a reductivist manner relying on surface and spatial tensions to convey the content. The imagery in my work is based on childhood memory, appropriated diagrams and reflections of the visual realities of urban decay. My work expresses a continuing dynamic of time, experience, and personal perception.”
Fisher is a recipient of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Fellowship Award (2010-2011). Bill Fisher’s paintings can be found in prominent public and private collections throughout North America.
